It beggars belief…

The blog is about ready to write in. Now if we could actually be bothered…

Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

It beggars belief that there are two vagabonds out there actually asking for money for alchohol, drugs and the hangover.

It beggars belief that they have a website too :-)

It beggars belief, frankly, that they will spend enough money on writing future blog articles, rather than beer.

But then, that which beggars belief is for the beggars to believe.

Not much needs saying - if there’s a bad moon rising then I guess we’re looking forward to it ;-)

The Christmas Present we wanted…

December 27, 2008

So, we were holed up in Seville for Christmas, waiting for Whisky to give birth and then subsequently, until the puppies are old enough to give away (February - if anybody wants one and can get to Seville, contact us).

One advantage we have in Seville is that many people we know from past visits pass in the street and invite us for a hot shower (Ah! The blissful delight of washing in hot water! :-) or to wash the sleeping bags etc.

One pair of old friends here had rented an attic but still hung on to their van and, having decided to visit Morocco for Christmas and the New Year, told us we could stay in the flat until they came back.

So, puppies having been born, we have a few weeks of Christmas present - showering at least once every day and wearing clean clothes and clean-shaven faces and doing no “work” until we run out of food - sometime this week.

The flat came with an Instanet conection and Mari, very kindly and trustingly, left her laptop so the blog is now open and although the internet connection has reached it’s monthly limit, the galleries will soon be rebuilt - which will involve lots of little trips back and forth to an internet cafe, carrying bits of gallery one way and bits of subtitles the other (They also have an impressive collection of movies :-)

On the street, cold and wet / Frio y mojado estoy en la calle

The

English

On the street, cold and wet

Will translate this eventually - we are, after all, bloody lazy and too poor to spend time in internet cafes instead of on beer! :-)

A lady came by, read the signs and asked me if I’m happy. “Yes. I think so,” I replied, to which she told me she wasn’t - she had the permanent job, house etc. but wasn’t happy.”

She sat down (her face reflecting sadness) and I told her that if she didn’t like her life she should change it and she told me that she was going to change the house and see if that helped.

I pointed out that it’s not enough to change like that - that you have to change the way you think. That solitude is something one has to learn to use to improve life - change must come from within and not from anybody or anything outside.

Cold and wet, I’m still on the street.

Cold and happy, because maybe I’ve helped someone

Castellano
