On the street, cold and wet / Frio y mojado estoy en la calle
December 11, 2008
Will translate this eventually - we are, after all, bloody lazy and too poor to spend time in internet cafes instead of on beer! A lady came by, read the signs and asked me if I’m happy. “Yes. I think so,” I replied, to which she told me she wasn’t - she had the permanent job, house etc. but wasn’t happy.” She sat down (her face reflecting sadness) and I told her that if she didn’t like her life she should change it and she told me that she was going to change the house and see if that helped. I pointed out that it’s not enough to change like that - that you have to change the way you think. That solitude is something one has to learn to use to improve life - change must come from within and not from anybody or anything outside. Cold and wet, I’m still on the street. Cold and happy, because maybe I’ve helped someone Una mujer se acerca, lee los carteles y me pregunta si soy felÃz.
